When is a good time to start a new habit?

Simple, anytime. Want to hear some good news? I'm glad. You don't have to wait for January first, the first day of the month, or even the first day of the week. You can decide to start to make a change towards healthier habits and day pf the month, anytime of the day. So now that we got that out of the way. Alright, so let's look at the 6 healthy habits you can start right now.

Healthy Habits

1. Get Enough Rest

Getting enough sleep every night is one of the keys to helping you maintain wellness. Set a time to go to bed and wake up. Create a routine that works for you. Use essential oils and supplements to promote relaxation and calming. (This is where I get my essential oils.)

2. Drink Enough Water

How much water is enough water? Take your weight / 2 = how many ounces you should drink per day. Example if you weigh 200 lbs you need to drink 100 oz of water. This is general rule of thumb. You may need more or less depending on your specific health goals.

3. Commit to a Meal Plan

When you plan what you’re going to eat ahead of time it will help you make better food choices daily. When you grocery shop you will know what you are going to buy ahead of time.

4. Move Your Body

If you are not exercising at all right now you can start by moving for 15 minutes every other day. After you can sustain that you can increase the amount of time you are moving or the number of days. You can walk, follow along to a YouTube video. or even use a workout app on your phone.

5. Set Aside Quiet Time

For me this looks like time in praying, reading the bible, and meditating on a section of verses. Sometimes it can look like reading a book, taking a bath, or doing something creative like painting or writing. Your quiet time may look different than mine.

6. Declutter Your Home

Reducing the amount of clutter in your home can save time, reduce stress, and allow you to open up your home. Start by committing to 15 minutes a few times a week to focus on decluttering one area of you r home before moving on to the next area. I use the timer on my phone to keep me motivated.

Start small and make small changes in each of these areas. Use a calendar or a journal to help track your progress. Remember we shoot for little by little progress and not perfection. Share one healthy habit you have started.
